Recommandations de cours
I was there during the summer so the regular students were not around. We didn't get a chance to interact.
The courses were quite good -- the emphasis is placed on verbal skills.
Some Profs are better than others. My boyfriends Prof was fantastic -- mine was okay.
Oh, and that Prof (Monsieur Gagnon I think) used to take us on trips. He took us to these used bookstores in the city. The owner had classical music and opera playing.......the books were all leather bound -- it was amazing!!! Like something out of a movie.
The phonetic course is tough but you learn a lot!
Despite the courses you still have a lot of time to do whatever you want.

The assignments were not that bad. In fact they were totally fair.
I should note Monsieur Gagnon was writing a text book...........his methods were fantastic! They helped me get perfect on the tests for my class.
Look for him if you go!!!

“Great Canadian university for graduate studies”

Évaluation globale
The University of Toronto was a great experience for me. I applied to one program which I was not accepted to but the department urged me to consider a different program to which I was accepted to so I liked that my the department considered which program would be the best fit for me and didn't just reject me completely.
I was able to thrive in my program with the support of teaching assistants, professors, and my classmates when it came to difficult subjects and preparing for exams and assignments.
There are so many resources and activities available at a big university especially in a big city so you can't complain that you are ever bored or have no way of meeting people. I had a great experiences in my 2 years there.

Food was expensive -- in particular fresh produce. The ONLY University in walking area to campus is the Metro right nearby. I think they take advantage of that and charge a lot for fresh produce.
If you want to eat healthfully it will get kind of expensive.
Telephone.........we used calling cards so it was a bit more expensive than at home.
Everything else was good!

Food can get expensive. I highly suggest cooking if you live on campus!
Having said that don't neglect eating out -- a lot of restaurants are fabulous.
Oh and there is a bank right on campus so that was completely easy to take care of.
I would, however, say that there was limited access to the internet -- which was dissapointing.
