Housing
Type of housing: Piast
Arranged by:
If returning, I would choose: Same
Why?
Piast is great because all the students attending the program live in the building. No A/C or luxuries considered mandatory at home, but who needs them with Krakow to explore. Bar downstairs is regular meeting place for all students.

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
Krakow is an educated city and thus people knew English for the most part. You can get by without knowing Polish. To really learn the language, be sure to hang out with Polish speaking people and/or frequent the downtown area on your own to practice usage.

Buy a monthly pass for the tram and bus. Use your meal coupons too. Kababs are good, but they add up. same with alcohol at the bars. buy a bottle at the local sklep or drink at the piast bar before going out. it saves a ton. I ended up spending way more than expected just from these small expenses adding up; granted, i did go out for 6 weeks straight.
