Housing
Type of housing: Youth Hostel-Bytkowska
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Same place- Bytkowska street youth hostel
Why?
Very good plave. Like a hotel. My room had its own bathroo, fridge, balcony and room service. But beware, not all campuses are like this.

The one I was situated in was excellent. (I had a very pleasent neighbours that were studing at nearby Katowice Film Academy). Other campuses are also good. However, rooms there dont have its own kitchen and bathroom. At the other hand those other campuses are much bigger, and are equipped with sport, cultural, IT and cantine facilities.

Personal spending habits
POland is a little bit more expensive than Serbia. Telephone was quite expensive to use from my room and I tried not to use it oftenly. Still, we all have those moments when we want to hear immediately a distant mate at any price :) Housing can be quite cheap if you dont look for comfort . Travel is also cheap as long you stay in Poland and if use all discounts.

Final comments
Katowice is not the nicest place in Poland. Dont be dissapointed by its industrial charm. Close cities like Krakow and Wroclaw will win your heart though, I promise !

Course recommendations
I was following courses in French as I was attending francophonic department for Political Science. University of Silesia has its Polish PS department which is good as well. Still, if you speak French and if you want to follow French(Sciences Po) curiculum in the middle of Poland, this is your cup of tea.
