Don't try to overanalyse the local situation before going. There are so many things to do that you wouldn't want to decide beforehand.

Dig into the Swedish nation life. There is lots to do and explore there and cut the Swedes some slack, they might turn out to be great friends!

At home, I lived with my sister. So we split the cost in half. And here I called more people(obvious reasons). And alcohol is more expensive here in Sweden.

Prices are high in Sweden and I wanted to make sure I maximized my experience so I spent quite a bit of money on different activities.

Food in Sweden is more expensive than in the Netherlands. I did not alter my eating habits much. Furthermore I cooked for myself most of the time in Sweden while in the Netherlands I have dinner with other students which reduces the expenses. Telephone: In Sweden I had my own phone. Accommodation: The price of the room was just higher. Nightlife: Okay I did get more out in Sweden, even though I did not know that it was possible. Travel: When you are abroad better take the oppurtunity to see as many things as possible that are nearby.
