Expenses
Main source of funding:
Family
Other sources of funding:
Personal savings
An ERASMUS grant
Work opportunities:

Personal spending habits
I was living in a rent house and in Portugal I live with my parents, therefore I had this adittional expense. I spend less traveling beucase of my bike.Nightlife was quite the same, I didn't notice too many differences in the prices and we had a lot of erasmus home parties therefore was cheap. To sum up, I expended a lot more, mainly beucase I was living alone on my own and the prices are a bit higher than in Portugal.

In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
I enjoyed the university although there's a lot of burocracy and although the support from the teacher, it is expected from you to work on your own and learn and find things by yourself. Therefore, if you invest in your assessments, you will be sucessful.

Final comments
Erasmus is not only a educational experience but above all a personal experience. Try not to be close to people from your country, so that you can get in touch with people with different points of view and different lifesytles. Enjoy as much as you can the opportunity of living in the heart of Europe to travel and visit several countries from East and Center of Europe.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because I would be in constant touch with the other Erasmus Friends and closer to the centre and University.Unfortunately, they hadn't any place available for me,yet,I have stayed with some erasmus people.Though, I loved the place where I lived, because I took the best out of it,I tried to have typical dutch habits like going to the market and riding my bike from the Univ to my house.

It is very good to have someone responsible in finding us acommodation, though they just garantee us a place one week before, therefore we never know if we actually will have a placement or not.

Amsterdam is an "international city", you can find EVERYTHING...you can meet ANYONE!There were very nice spots, such as Scape ( for who likes house music and dance until the sun rise), leidsplein is a great place to have dinner and museumPlein is THE PLACE if you are in a cultural mood. One of my best memmories, was the Museum Nacht, one special event, where you buy a ticket and during on entire night, you can visit all the Amsterdam's museums and travel by boat from one to the other. Amazing!
