Cost Consultant - Retail Sector

The project: An exciting opportunity to join the Cost and Commercial Management team working with a small selection of our key strategic Retail sector clients. The role will involve advising across a full range of cost planning, project budgeting, forecasting and strategic procurement services. This is a role to support our clients in both the UK and Europe with occasional travel required.
You'll be responsible for:
* Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
* Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
* Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
* Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages.
* Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract.
* Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients.
* Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes.
You'll need to have:
* Experience in cost consultancy, with retail sector exposure advantageous.
* Strong commercial expertise across cost planning, estimation, value engineering and Capex/OpEx analysis.
* Sound contract administration skills, with JCT expertise and working knowledge of NEC.
* Quantity surveying or cost management degree; professional membership desirable.
