Job overview: We're seeking a highly organised and strategic leader to oversee the AXA insurance UK Commercial office and support the delivery of our business's long-term growth and strategic priorities. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Commercial, this role is pivotal in managing daily operations, facilitating key strategic initiatives, and driving engagement across the Commercial leadership team. You'll act as a trusted advisor, confidant, and implementer, ensuring the smooth running of the office and the successful deployment of strategic plans. Key responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day running of the Commercial office, ensuring smooth operations through close collaboration with the Commercial Leadership Team. Partner with the PA to the Managing Director - Commercial on calendar planning, meeting management, and key business activity scheduling. Prepare and deliver business update submissions for AXA Insurance ExCom meetings, including monthly LT papers, agendas, and key documents. Support the organisation of key meetings, conferences, and events-producing presentations, briefing notes, and managing logistics to ensure impactful delivery. Drive engagement initiatives such as VIP awards, recognition programs, and team events to foster an inclusive, motivated culture. Collaborate with the Managing Director and Commercial LT to develop and deploy strategic plans, ensuring initiatives are aligned and effectively communicated across the business. Design and coordinate leadership development activities, team engagement events, and organisational change programmes to enhance leadership connectivity and performance. Build and maintain strong relationships within the Commercial Leadership Team and broader business units, influencing delivery and fostering a high-performance culture. Work arrangements: At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. Your skills & experience: Proven experience in senior support roles, office management, or strategic coordination within a large, complex organisation. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams. Exceptional organisational and event planning skills, with a high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills-confident in producing presentations, briefing notes, and internal/external reports. Experience supporting strategic projects, leadership development, and engagement initiatives. Ability to act as a trusted confidant and advisor to senior leadership, demonstrating sound judgment and discretion. A proactive, resilient attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and functions. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
