Your Job
As a Jr Automation Engineer, you will support and assist with the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated systems within our production environment. Working closely with senior engineers, you will help ensure process reliability, quality, and safety compliance while gaining hands-on experience with advanced automation technologies. This role is a key contributor to the smooth operation and enhancement of systems such as robotics, PLCs, sensors, and vision systems, bridging the gap between production, maintenance, and engineering teams.

You will be part of the DSS division at our Molex Guadalajara location, collaborating with diverse functional teams including Operations, Production, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, and more. What You Will Do
* Monitor daily performance and support troubleshooting of automated systems including robots, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and vision systems.
* Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance as well as in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated equipment or production lines.
* Make minor adjustments to PLC programs and backup/restore machine software under supervision.
* Support integration activities involving sensors, pneumatic components, and vision systems during FAT/SAT phases.
* Maintain and update technical documentation such as electrical schematics, test reports, and maintenance logs.
* Ensure automation systems comply with quality standards (ISO, IATF, IPC, Molex global standards) and support validation efforts during equipment launches.
* Participate in continuous learning to improve skills in PLC programming, robotics, vision systems, and lean manufacturing practices.
* Actively contribute to 5S, EHS, Quality, and Lean programs by following standard practices and recommending improvements.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics, Automation and Control, Industrial Engineering (with automation focus), or Mechanical Engineering with relevant automation experience.
* Experience in automation, control systems, or manufacturing environments.
* Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron) and exposure to industrial automation equipment such as robotics, sensors, and pneumatics.
* Ability to support maintenance and engineering teams in troubleshooting and process optimization.
* English proficiency at B1-B2 level.
What Will Put You Ahead
* Internship or professional experience in high-volume manufacturing or assembly lines (electronics, automotive, cable industries preferred).
* Familiarity with vision systems, robotics, and data acquisition tools like OEE, SCADA, or MES.
* Experience participating in continuous improvement projects related to automation, safety, or productivity enhancement.
* Exposure to preventive maintenance planning and machine qualification processes.
* Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, teamwork, adaptability, and a proactive learning attitude.
