Role Description:
The Recruitment Manager is part of the Talent Delivery Management team, reports to the Senior Manager - Talent Delivery, and is based at Booking.com's headquarters in Amsterdam.
This role is responsible for delivering hiring results across multiple countries for the Marketplace Business Unit, while partnering closely with the Extended Leadership Team and HR colleagues to execute a diverse, global talent acquisition strategy. The Recruitment Manager combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, ensuring high-quality hiring outcomes, strong stakeholder partnerships, and consistent execution across markets.
This is a globally scoped leadership role with accountability for functional hiring strategy, team performance, and stakeholder alignment. The role leads individual contributors, drives high performance and development across the team, and typically manages a span of control of 5-7 direct reports.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
* Partner with the Senior Manager and senior business stakeholders to understand business direction and translate it into functional hiring strategies.
* Drive the execution of a diverse global talent acquisition strategy aligned to business priorities and hiring goals.
* Ensure the Talent Acquisition team operates proactively and effectively to achieve hiring targets.
* Inspire, lead, and motivate a dispersed team of Lead, Senior and Core Recruiters to deliver diverse candidate pipelines and high-quality hiring outcomes.
* Build strong partnerships with leadership, HR, and Talent Acquisition stakeholders including Sourcing, Internal Recruitment, Talent Marketing, Talent Intelligence and People Operations to support business growth and workforce planning.
* Communicate regularly with key stakeholders on progress, priorities, risks, and hiring outcomes.
* Partner with the Talent Delivery Leadership team and Centres of Excellence to improve recruitment and selection processes, including process adoption, metrics, measurement, reporting, and gap-closing actions.
* Stay informed on external market trends, talent intelligence, and evolving recruiting practices, and translate these insights into actionable recommendations.
* Proactively share recruitment priorities, progress, innovations, and results across the organization.
* Work closely with business and HR stakeholders to ensure global consistency across Talent Acquisition products, tools, services, and initiatives.
* Monitor recruiting budgets and investments to ensure effective and efficient resource allocation.
* Track labour legislation and implement required changes to maintain compliance across relevant markets.
* Conduct regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and development planning for direct reports.
* Manage team workload and oversee manager responsibilities including sickness, holiday, expense, and event attendance approvals.
* Apply the manager expectations consistently and role model Booking.com values in day-to-day leadership.
* Develop and implement hiring forecasts and manage team-facing and business-facing performance metrics.
* Build and maintain strong functional domain knowledge to support strategic hiring decisions.
* Manage multiple priorities simultaneously, balancing strategic initiatives with operational delivery.
* Handle complex issues with sound judgment, composure, and a strong problem-solving mindset.
* AI Fluency, integrating automations and AI technology into workflows to enable more efficient recruitment processes that is human-lead and benefits the team, hiring community and candidates
Qualifications & Skills:
Qualifications and experience:
* Advanced relevant experience in Talent Acquisition, typically 5-8 years or more.
* Proven leadership experience within recruitment, including leading team leads or senior individual contributors.
* Experience operating in an international, matrixed, and fast-paced environment.
* Strong experience delivering global or multi-country hiring strategies and outcomes.
* Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and improving recruitment effectiveness at scale.
