An Automation Systems Engineer II role will merge technical, manufacturing, and business knowledge to drive new innovations across Raytheon. The role has a foundation in controls programming and will allow for knowledge growth on advanced robotic equipment that is transforming the way that Raytheon assembles product. Learning the intricacies of every custom cell and overcoming the inevitable equipment challenges, including mechanical, electrical, and programming, will be paramount to your success. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative team of automation systems engineers onsite in Andover, MA, but will be required to operate independently at times.

What You Will Do
* Troubleshooting support and recovery of faults on 20+ pieces of custom robotics around the factory
* Implement improvements to production automation systems, primarily programming Robotics, PLCs, and Vision Systems
* Document issues and resolutions in Azure DevOps to properly convey impact to leadership and stakeholders.
* Update documentation for changes made to deployed systems
* Liaise with manufacturing engineering and operators to understand and resolve issues

Qualifications You Must Have
* Requires a Master's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) with a preferred major in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
* Experience with industrial PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff) or microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
* The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

*Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer
* Preferred majors in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
* Active DoD Secret Clearance
* Robotics experience
* Machine vision experience
* Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
