Responsibility Summary:

* May act in the capacity of an on-the-job coach for new associates (trainees) post classroom training
* Through instruction, education and support, guides the trainee to arrive at solutions in response to incoming telephone calls and written correspondence from Financial Advisors, Branch Office Administrators, and/or clients in both an independent and team structure while considering different variables such as legal/regulatory guidelines and risk to the firm
* Provides regular feedback to trainees which communicates strengths and areas of opportunity, and coaches them on the development of their action plan for improvement
* Documents each learner's progress and feedback daily while training and coaching
* Communicates openly with Business Area Leaders and provides regular updates on trainees' progress and determines when trainees will move to the next phase of learning
* Works in collaboration with other coaches, Business Area Leaders/SMEs, and Home Office Learning & Design team contributing to learning content updates and reviews.
* Stays current on knowledge by assisting business areas in production.
* Build self and department coaching skills by engaging in development activities (e. g. observations, soliciting & providing feedback, branch experience, training class, etc.)
* May complete quality reviews and provide feedback as needed to associates.
* Participates in calibration sessions with business area leaders.
Learning Specialists will positively influence behavior by asking targeted, open-ended, thought provoking questions designed to help the trainee think through situations and arrive at their own solution

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Experience
* 1-2 years of relevant training/coaching experience
* A diverse background across areas of the Service Division recommendedEducation/Certification
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
* SIE & Series 7 Topoff preferred
Skills / Abilities
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must be able to respond and adapt to trainees and leaders with appropriate tone, organized thoughts, and confidence
* Flexing personal communication style to best align with each individual trainee through listening, asking open-ended questions and challenging as needed
* Ability to respond to written correspondence in a clear, succinct manner
* Organizational skills and time management skills
* Facilitator and Coaching skills
* Knowledge of coaching processes and adult learning theory
* Must be able to multi-task and follow-up appropriately to take issues to resolution
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and quickly learn and apply new information
* Proficiency in topics, procedures and systems used by the department(s) supported
* Maintain SME knowledge for topics supported in OJT**Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**

Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
