Overview
Industries today are being reshaped by emerging technologies such as generative AI, intelligent agents, augmented and virtual reality, and advanced automation. As a design and innovation consulting intern, you'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to help global businesses shape their digital strategies, design next-generation experiences, and solve complex innovation challenges. The Opportunity
We are seeking 'UI Designer - Interns' to join our Digital Product and Service Design Studio for GDS MENA at our Trivandrum, India office. In this hands-on internship you'll work with a boundary-pushing design studio that thrives on radical creativity, experimenting with AI-driven methods and human-centered design to deliver solutions that make a real impact for some of the world's leading organizations. You'll experience the entire design lifecycle, from early research and concept generation through prototyping and delivery, while gaining real-world experience that prepares you for a professional design career.

Your Key Responsibilities
* Gain proficiency in Figma and other leading design tools
* Translate business requirements into clear user problem statements with guidance
* Collaborate with teams to ideate solutions influenced by the latest tech trends (AI-driven personalization, AR/VR interfaces, conversational agents)
* Create interaction flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI mockups for digital platforms
* Support the creation of on-screen content aligned with project needs and brand tone
* Present and communicate design ideas effectively in team discussions
* Explore basic HTML/CSS/JS and frameworks such as Angular (optional)
* Contribute to projects for leading global clients, experiencing how enterprise-grade digital products are designed and delivered

* Ability to visualize and sketch ideas on paper or digitally
* Basic proficiency with design tools or eagerness to learn quickly
* Exposure to academic or personal projects demonstrating design thinking
* Interest in human-centered design methods and agile delivery practices
* Strong written and spoken communication in English
* Flexibility to adapt to different project needs and timelines

Good to Have Skills
* Illustration and presentation skills
* Experience with Figma, Photoshop, or Adobe XD
* Awareness of agile processes for design delivery
* Interest in exploring AR/VR prototyping and AI-assisted design workflows
* Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS)
