Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Civil Group Lead or Lead engineer, this role prepares plans, designs, and administers Civil design projects for clients. This role applies knowledge of civil site design, construction detailing, construction procedures, site utility codes, and site materials. The position also requires a level of technical expertise to successfully execute projects from large complex projects to small renovation projects. Work is performed with supervision with latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments based upon experience and abilities. Project scope may include military billeting, vehicle maintenance, aviation facilities, headquarters & administrative buildings, medical, research, and mission critical facilities.

* Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates all other discipline elements into unified design for client review and approval
* Performs work of complex scope
* Conducts periodic on-site observation for documenting existing conditions or for work during construction to monitor compliance with detailed design documents
* Monitors civil project scope development and changes, tracking adjustments to the projected project construction cost
* Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans
* May coordinate activities of workers both US and Host Nation Local Nationals engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project
* Use advanced techniques to modify and extend civil engineering theories, precepts and practices
* Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/ modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
* Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for major phases of large land/site development, related projects
* Perform other duties assigned by a Senior or Lead Engineer or Project Manager

Here's what you'll need

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or in senior year with good academic record is required.
* EIT (Engineering in Training) in the US or equivalent in other countries is preferred.
* Demonstrated program experience in the usage of Autocad Civil 3D and/or Land Desktop Development and publishing programs, and Microsoft Office suite is required.
* Strong organizational, communications (both verbal and written) skills, and leadership abilities are required.
* Ability to effectively coordinate with project design team members is required.
* Participation in professional organizations is preferred.
