ARTC - Visual Inspection Traineeship [GRIT@Gov]

What the role is

Visual Inspection Trainee: The primary work under this traineeship is on machine vision application and data acquisition development. It will allow the trainee to get the first hand of experience on using various industrial grade hardware and software to fulfil the requirements from actual inspection applications from various industry sectors. The trainee will also be exposed to the latest AI-powered inspection software and tools for visual defect detection.

What will you be working on

* Use of various industrial grade machine vision / smart vision hardware/tools (camera, lens, lighting) for optical inspection applications development.
* Use of off-the-shelf visual inspection software to check the image quality acquired under various image acquisition settings (e.g., image quality sufficient to be used to train deep learning models for defect detection)

What we are looking for

Job Requirements

* We welcome the applicant to have analytical thinking with problem-solving mindset to better appreciate the fast-pace and dynamic nature of industrial projects.
* Electrical engineering / Mechanical engineering / Mechatronics engineering Diploma holder (& above), experience / knowledge on visual inspection is preferred.

Key Competencies to be developed

* Competencies and practical skills in machine vision / smart vision application development.
* The trainee will be attached to industrial project to build the necessary capabilities /experience from application development to solution deployment meeting the requirements under actual production / manufacturing conditions.
