Job Description:
Team introduction Our team is dedicated to building and scaling Japan's entertainment content ecosystem, delivering world-class entertainment experiences to users on TikTok. We partner closely with leading entertainment companies, rights holders, and creators to drive their success both domestically and globally. Through strategic collaboration, we help shape sustainable growth models that unlock new opportunities across the entertainment value chain. Working cross-functionally with Global, Product, and Marketing teams, we lead high-impact initiatives such as global anime campaigns and emerging format expansion-including the growth of short-form drama. By bridging Japan's dynamic entertainment industry with TikTok's global platform, we play a key role in elevating Japanese entertainment to a worldwide stage. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early. Responsibilities - Analyze official account performance through both quantitative metrics (views, engagement rate, shares) and qualitative instinct - then translate findings into concrete content recommendations. - Study user-generated content (UGC) trends to surface actionable insights that can deepen community engagement. - Identify patterns and triggers behind viral content using a dual-axis approach: AI-assisted data analysis combined with your own platform intuition. - Develop reproducible frameworks for viral content strategy that the team can apply across partner accounts. - Produce weekly and monthly reports that distill your analysis into clear, decision-ready insights for the broader team. - Participate actively in team discussions as a full contributor - not a sideline observer. - Top-performing interns during the internship will be considered for full-time return offers, subject to business needs and performance
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum Qualification(s): - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or above, Fluent Japanese speaker and available for a full-time internship of at least 3 months. - Heavy daily TikTok user - you use and post on TikTok regularly, with an intuitive feel for what's trending and why. - Ability to break down viral content into its component elements (hooks, audio, emotional triggers, community context) and articulate clearly what made it work. - Can translate content observations into specific, actionable proposals for official accounts or brand partners. - Strong basic logical thinking - able to structure a hypothesis, support it with evidence, and communicate it persuasively. - Comfortable working with spreadsheets and dashboards at a basic level (advanced analytics not required; training will be provided). - Genuine interest in entertainment content - anime, manga, movies, and dramas are a meaningful part of how you engage with culture. Preferred Qualification(s): - Academic background in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, Sociology, or related fields. - Experience with other social platforms and an ability to draw qualitative comparisons across them. - Active personal TikTok account with content creation experience - you know what it feels like to post, not just consume. - Prior internship or work experience in social media marketing, content production, or creator economy. - Broad entertainment taste beyond anime/manga - including live-action, music, sports, or other formats. - Basic familiarity with data tools such as Python, SQL, or analytics platforms (a plus, not a requirement).
