This position is located at the prestigious University of Texas Elementary School (UTES) in downtown Austin, Texas. This 194 days (traditional school calendar) position is from August 1st to May 31. The University of Texas Elementary School is a public charter school and follows all state and federal regulations for public school services. UTES is a part of the University of Texas at Austin's College of Education. Salary will be spread over 12 months.

Purpose

Support the academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and mental health needs of students through direct services, consultation, collaboration, and schoolwide prevention efforts. Coordinate campus social-emotional learning initiatives, support implementation of trauma-informed practices, provide crisis intervention services, and oversee the campus social work internship program.

Responsibilities

* Student Support Services
* Provide direct and indirect school social work services to students experiencing academic, behavioral, social, emotional, attendance, or family-related concerns.
* Conduct observations, interviews, assessments, and consultations to identify student needs and barriers to success.
* Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement intervention plans.
* Develop individualized behavior support plans through the MTSS/RTI process.
* Coordinate implementation and progress monitoring of behavioral and social-emotional interventions.
* Facilitate referrals to community agencies and mental health providers when appropriate.
* Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including MTSS, attendance, behavior support, Section 504, and other student support meetings.
* Serve as a member of the crisis response time and provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and follow-up support for students and families.
* Maintain appropriate documentation and records in accordance with district and professional standards.
* Social Emotional Learning and School Climate
* Coordinate implementation of the school's social-emotional learning initiatives and curriculum.
* Provide classroom observations, consultation, and coaching to support SEL implementation and student engagement.
* Assist campus administration in designing and implementing positive school culture and climate initiatives.
* Analyze behavior, attendance, and school climate data to identify trends and support decision-making.
* Conduct student surveys related to school belonging and school climate and assist with reporting findings.
* Develop and facilitate parent education opportunities related to social-emotional development, behavior, mental health, and family supports.
* Coordinate the UT Elementary Social Work Internship Program
* Recruit, interview, orient, supervise, and evaluate graduate social work interns.
* Collaborate with university field faculty and maintain required internship supervision and evaluation.
* Assign and monitor intern responsibilities to support student and campus needs.

Required Qualifications

* Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
* Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Texas.
* Minimum of two (2) years post-graduate social work experience required.
* Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in school or community-based settings preferred.
* Knowledge of MTSS/RTI, behavior intervention, social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, and school-based mental health supports.
* Experience supervising or mentoring social work practicum students preferred.
* Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Salary Range

$62,000 + depending on qualifications
