What We Need Are you looking for a summer internship within a fast-paced, high-growth global payments business? Corpay Cross-Border's Corporate Dealing team is seeking a highly motivated summer intern to join our team for a 8-10 week paid internship. This program offers a unique opportunity for rising juniors and seniors to learn firsthand how a modern corporate FX desk operates while developing analytical, operational, and AI-driven problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will rotate through structured phases covering FX operations, workflow mapping, commercial exposure, and delivery of an AI-focused capstone project presented to senior leadership. How We Work As an intern you will be expected to work in an in-office environment reporting to our Toronto office location. Corpay will set you up for success by providing: Assigned workspace in Toronto office Company-issued equipment Formal, hands-on training Role Responsibilities This full-time internship offers exposure to the full lifecycle of corporate FX transactions, operational processes, commercial activity, and applied AI research. Responsibilities follow four structured phases aligned to the developmental flow of the internship. Phase 1: Orientation & Foundations (Weeks 1-2) You will build foundational market, product, platform, and compliance knowledge by: Completing regulatory and compliance onboarding Reviewing Corpay's data handling, confidentiality, and information-security standards Learning core FX products (spot, forwards, vanilla options, mass payments, hedging programs) Mapping FX products to client use cases such as vendor payments, payroll, subsidiary funding Receiving a guided walkthrough of Corpay's proprietary trading platform Reviewing historical trade tickets to understand end-to-end deal execution Shadowing senior dealers during live market hours and maintaining an observation log Completing a mock FX client scenario at the end of Week 2 Beginning the AI capstone research log Phase 2: Trading Desk Immersion (Weeks 3-7) You will develop an understanding of the daily, weekly, and monthly workflow of an FX dealer through: Daily responsibilities: Monitor open FX transactions through settlement Assist dealers with exceptions and document resolution paths Manage internal follow-ups with Operations, Client Services, and Compliance Observe dealer/client calls and write structured summaries Weekly responsibilities: Map & document one full transaction workflow per week, noting manual vs. automated steps Analyze exceptions logs to identify patterns, bottlenecks, or recurring issues Maintain & expand the capstone research log, including research on AI in FX & payments Week 4 check-in: Present early workflow documentation and one improvement opportunity Phase 3: Capstone Development (Weeks 8-9) You will shift focus toward building the AI capstone recommendations while continuing lighter desk responsibilities. Work includes: Selecting two to three AI use cases based on observed workflows and exception patterns Describing the problem each use case solves, potential impact, and implementation risks Comparing internal build vs. external vendor options for proposed automation Building a full presentation deck and supporting materials Completing a mentor review by end of Week 9 Phase 4: Capstone Delivery & Close (Week 10) You will synthesize your work and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership. Activities include: Delivering a 20-30 minute AI capstone presentation (early Week 10) followed by Q&A Incorporating leadership feedback into a revised final deliverable Completing full work-product transfer: workflow maps, exceptions logs, call-observation library, capstone documentation Participating in a structured debrief and receiving personalized development feedback Learning Outcomes By the end of the internship, you will have: A working understanding of the full lifecycle of corporate FX transactions Direct experience with trade documentation, exception handling, and internal coordination Insight into dealer workflow across portal, email, and phone transaction channels Exposure to commercial processes through client-call observation and research A fully developed AI capstone project reviewed by senior leadership A cross-functional network across Dealing, Sales, Operations, Compliance, and Technology Qualifications & Skills Students must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program through the duration of the internship. Rising junior (3rd year) or senior (4th year) majoring in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field Strong academic record (3.5 GPA or greater preferred) Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills High level of professionalism and discretion, particularly with confidential client and transaction data Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Genuine interest in financial markets, cross-border payments, and global commerce Committed to working a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks during the summer months. Pay Transparency This salary range is provided for locations which require such disclosure. Where a position or applicant may fall in a particular wage range depends on a number of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience training licenses and certifications (if applicable), and other business and organization needs. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic markets. At Corpay it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. The estimate of the minimum and maximum salary range is CAD $25/HR - $27/HR.
