You Will
We are seeking a passionate and analytically minded intern to join the OPIS CAMIRO team. As a Carbon Policy & Markets Intern, you will be first and foremost a policy sleuth-tracking developments, deciphering regulatory language, and understanding the political and economic drivers of carbon markets. Your quantitative skills will allow you to validate hypotheses, uncover trends, and add data-driven depth to your analysis.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new product within a global leader. You will gain hands-on experience with the real-world applications of policy analysis and see directly how your work informs decisions in carbon markets and low-carbon fuel crediting programs.
Primary responsibilities include:
Policy & Regulatory Tracking & Analysis
Monitor, research, and synthesize regulatory developments from key global carbon markets and clean fuels programs, including U.S., Canada, EU and UK.
Analyze policy documents, agency rulings and legislative text and assess potential market impacts.
Prepare research notes to inform customer briefs and outlooks.
Quantitative & Market Analysis
Collect, manage, and analyze proprietary and public datasets related to greenhouse gas emissions, allowance auctions, clean fuel credit generation, trading volumes, and fuel pathways.
Support the regular updating of existing price forecasting models, supply/demand outlooks datasets, and analytics.
Support the development of new price forecasting models, supply/demand outlooks datasets, and analytics.
You Have
Completed at least 2 years toward your bachelor's degree
BY NEXT SUMMER, YOU WILL BE: either a rising junior or rising senior in your undergrad program.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Fluency in English, written and spoken at a business level
Experience or familiarity with Python, SAS, SPSS, R, SQL, Power BI, desired.
Salary: $28.00/hour
