(COMPANY NAME) Bank is one of the fastest growing neobanks in the UK with exciting plans for an IPO in the near future. In response to this growth, we are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Financial Control team.

To be successful in this role you'll have a good understanding of IFRS accounting standards, financial month-end close process, and UK taxes. This role would suit best someone from industry with experience of month-end close processes, or someone from accountancy practice with Banking experience.

Our Finance team is growing at pace so you'll have a clear ability to build effective and influential relationships within Finance and other (COMPANY NAME) teams. Our team are self-starting problem solvers, agile and thrive on bringing past experiences to a diverse range of challenges. You'll be part of an impressive (COMPANY NAME) team, who are super collaborative and happy to roll their sleeves up to achieve our team goals!

A day in the life:

* Responsible for areas of the month-end close process, ensuring that all your month-end activities are completed timely and accurately
* Coach junior team members in accounting and month-end close processes
* Ensure process excellence across all business-as-usual processes, identifying and implementing areas of improvement
* Prepare manual journal entries, soon developing into a reviewer role
* Responsible for the staff capitalisations process & maintain the intangible assets register
* Use, update, and implement new financial models to determine required month-end adjustments (e.g. EIR, SBP)
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations
* Own the preparation of tax compliance schedules (e.g. VAT and Corporate tax returns)
* Execute monthly, quarterly and annual controls over financial & tax reporting timely and accurately
* Support initiatives aimed at enhancing the internal control environment ahead of the IPO
* Maintain operational procedures and policies
* Prepare notes in the Financial Statements alongside managing areas of the external audit
* Respond to queries from stakeholders across Finance and other business areas in (COMPANY NAME)

About you:

* You're a part-qualified accountant with experience in the financial month-end close process and have an analytic & practical mindset enabling you to build and operate complex accounting models and EUCs.
* Have strong numeric/analytical and spreadsheet skills.
* A team player and problem solver. You'll show great initiative to listen, analyse, research, investigate and provide solutions to problems relating to financial accounting and reporting.
* You've got the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst working accurately with attention to detail.
* Finally, you'll be energetic, motivated, and have a passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of success!

Bonus points for:

* Experience in Infor Sun Systems, SQL, Anaplan and/or Tableau is advantageous
* Experience in staff capitalisations and/or EIR methodology
