A Day in the Life
At Medtronic, you'll support technologies that improve and save lives. In our Fort Worth service center, you'll help ensure surgical equipment is cleaned, repaired, packaged, and returned to the field-where it supports clinicians and patients every day.

This is a hands-on entry point into Medtronic's technical career path, with exposure to advanced medical devices and opportunities to grow into higher-level technician or engineering support roles.

As a Technician I, you'll support the service and repair lifecycle of medical devices within Medtronic's Powered Surgical Solutions portfolio. This role has a strong focus on packaging and product flow, with additional exposure to troubleshooting and repair activities.

Work Environment & Schedule

* Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

* Hands-on, active role (standing, walking, lifting, packaging, moving between stations)

Compensation:

* $22.75 / hourly + 5% annual bonus target

* 4 weeks paid time off per year

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

* Perform in-house servicing and repair support of company products at the Fort Worth service center

* Prepare and package equipment for shipment back to the field

* Support product flow from decontamination through repair, testing, and outbound shipping

* Assist with diagnosing mechanical, hardware, and system failures using established procedures

* Perform maintenance, testing, calibration, and documentation of serviced products

* Construct, troubleshoot, test, and maintain electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical devices

* Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions

* Operate equipment, conduct tests, and report data in prescribed formats

* Support inventory processes including cycle counting and parts management

* Prepare reports to support analysis of product performance and failure trends

* Collaborate with technicians, engineering, and cross-functional teams

* Utilize ERP and quality systems (SAP/QMS) for tracking and documentation

* Identify issues and take initiative to work through technical roadblocks

You'll gain exposure to technologies such as surgical drills, robotics systems, and electrosurgical equipment while supporting a high-impact service operation.

Must-Have Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience following detailed work instructions or SOPs

* Basic computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Word/Excel)

* Experience in manufacturing, repair, service, or packaging environments

* Experience in regulated environments (FDA, ISO) and using quality systems

* Experience with inventory processes (cycle counting, parts tracking)

* Ability to read basic technical prints or instructions

* Demonstrated accuracy, reliability, and ability to work within a team

* Ability to quickly learn new processes and systems
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$44,000.00 - $66,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The starting base rate of pay for this position and location is $22.75 per hour. The base rate is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
