IDB Invest- 2026 Summer Internship Program
Undergraduate Intern

About this position
The IDB Group is looking for an active undergraduate student to be hired as an intern under the Consultant modality.
The 2026 Summer Internship Program is a competitive, paid opportunity based at IDB Group Headquarters. It offers university students hands-on exposure to development finance and private-sector solutions, enabling them to gain professional-level experience through on-the-job learning.
This internship will sit within the Blended Finance Division and will focus on evaluating a portfolio of blended-finance projects from both financial and impact perspectives, supporting the mobilization of private capital for climate, sustainability, and inclusive growth outcomes in emerging markets.
What you'll do
* Support the financial and impact assessment of blended-finance projects across sectors and countries.
* Analyze portfolio-level data to assess performance, additionality, and risk-return dynamics.
* Contribute to quantitative analyses, dashboards, and summary materials for internal decision-making.
* Assist with research on innovative blended-finance structures, impact metrics, and market trends.
* Collaborate with investment and advisory teams to support capital mobilization and development impact objectives.
What you'll need
Education: An active undergraduate (bachelor's) student in a quantitative or analytically rigorous field, such as Mathematics (applied or theoretical), Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
Languages: Languages: Fluency in English with a working knowledge of one other Bank language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is a plus.

Technical Skills:
* Quantitative analysis and data interpretation.
* Financial modeling (Excel required; other tools a plus).
* Strong Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and scenario analysis).
* Familiarity with basic corporate finance and investment concepts.
* Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Stata, or similar) is a plus.
* Interest in impact measurement, development finance, or climate finance strongly preferred.
Requirements
* Citizenship: IDB Invest has no nationality restrictions.
* Active student: enrolled in an undergraduate (bachelor's) program as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the Internship period.
* Consanguinity: Not have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB or IDB Invest.
* First job at the IDB Group: Be a first-time participant in an Internship Program held by the Bank or Inter-American Investment Corporation ("Corporation" also known as "IDB Invest"). In addition, you have not been a former staff member, Complementary Workforce ("CW"), contractor for the Bank or the Corporation, or have previously provided services to the Bank or the Corporation through a contractor or under any other contractual modality.
Notes:

* Academic transcripts and university letters should be issued within the last three months.
* For undergraduate students, the second year of school must be completed when applying.

* You must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from June 16 to August 15, 2026. These dates are fixed and cannot be modified. Interns must complete their assignments within this period.
* If you are an international student in the U.S.A., your work authorization is through CPT or OPT. Consult your school advisor before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week, many international students are limited to working part-time, depending on their academic standing.
