Nothing comes to mind.. Knowing about the 'Pfand' would have saved some embarrasment at the start, but that's all part of the experience!

There are many ways to get to Frankfurt depending where you are coming from. Closest airports are (in no particular order) Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Basel, Karlsruhe and Frankfurt. There are many low cost airlines flying to these airports. In my own experience coming from Ireland by far the cheapest and quickest way is Dublin-Frankfurt with aer lingus, and then the ICE train direct from the airport to Freiburg.
