The inclusion of cultures modules in the study is interesting and enriching, giving students an insight into the culture of the language that they are studying.

Accommodation varies, the nicest accommodation is a 25 minute walk from university, but spacious and clean.

The language courses are relatively good, but some language departments for a certain Germanic language aren't very organized. Also a warning, the year abroad they promise isn't as free as they advertise it to be; there are a great deal of restrictions on what you can do.
The main draw to Cardiff University for me was their offer of a Modern Languages and Translation degree - which was a rarity when I was applying to different universities.
The campus is very pretty, although at the moment, construction is underway on the Student's Union and it will be finished in two years.
With everything moving online, some things are significantly simpler (no commuting is a blessing - Cardiff has awful weather).
