The proficiency of natives in English is very wonderful. However, that means that it makes all the more difficult to learn the local language because people tend to switch back to english instead of swedish if they notice that you are not good enough.

It was easy to communicate with everyone inside and outside the university as everyone can undestan English very well but I had a problem to interact with the society as all the print and electronic media was in the host country language.

When I came to Sweden I was really impressed because everybody and not only people in the university was able to speak english.I have been in some other countries before and if you compare to Sweden it has nothing to do with their competence in this language.

Everyone in Sweden is quite good at English which made things easier for me. Swedish people are very generous and helpful. That's why I am very happy with my communication experience in Sweden and at Chalmers University of Technology.

Spoke mostly English since most Swedes are profficient in it and also all my fellow students in the program were foreigners like me so we communicated in English.

The course outlined that english would be the spoken language, and this was the truth. Everyone could communicate well with each other in english, and we could understand each other reasonably
