The education is really amazing. Columbia does a lot to make students interact. Various conferences are organized every day at lunch time.

Study in NY!

Overall
NYC is a great place to be in the center of everything new: innovations, trends, culture. There are many opportunities to learn outside the classroom (or apply what you have learned). Columbia itself is okay. Beautiful architecture, (some) amazing professors. The school itself does not have connected internal services, so getting stuff approved between departments can be annoying.

Pros
meet super smart people, make connections, challenging classes, NYC
Cons
little administrative support, expensive, being in the US

I wish I had started looking for jobs right when I got to New York instead of waiting until my last semester. I also wish I had known who the best teachers were at Columbia.

Find out who the best teachers are before you start the first semester. Start working on campus or get a good internship while you are a student.

In NY, you will not be considered as an international student, which is confortable for me. This place is a salad-bowl as many said. You can have many kind of experience!
