Café 203: It's a nice café which offers a really good menu! I've been there several times.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
but only if i'd stay there for longer than 3 months. I'd chose a private appartment because the students' residence is not in lyon itself. So if you want to go downtown you have to take the last bus at midnight or pay a taxi. Generally, I think living downtown is more practical. But for 3 months the residence was quite good as it is only 5 minutes away from school.

I liked living in the students' residence. I got to know a lot of other foreigners which wouldn't have been so easy living downtown. I really enjoyed my time there. The rooms were ok, I had everything I needed.

Personal spending habits
I live with my parents, so I don't have to pay for housing. In France, I travelled a lot within a short time, so this costed a lot. Talking about food, I'd say that it is more expensive than in Austria.

I wish I had known...
There is a lot of group work in every course which is sometimes difficult as you can't choose the persons you work with. The busses often don't go every hour. So you are really dependent on the times.

Personal recommendation
I enjoyed the life there. But some of the courses are rather boring. The topic is interesting but the teachers just make it a bit boring. But, I'd say: choose the courses that sound interesting to you and hope the best.

Final comments
For travelling in France, there is the 12 - 25 card in France. It costs about 40 euros and then you get a reduction of 25 to 50% for train tickets. If you plan to travel a lot this is really useful.

Course recommendations
Crossing cultural borders is an interesting and easy course, although some students did not really like the teacher. She is nice, but you have to get used to her.
