I wish I had known...
The only thing I wished I had known was the quality of the housing, if I had known it would have been this bad I would have gone elsewhere.

Try to get the know the local students. You have to do an effort. French students are not very open and you have to take the initiative to talk to them and getting to know them.

Paris is a wonderful city. Museums are free every 1st Sunday of the month, the Louvre museum is free for students under the age of 25 after 6 o clock. Your student card gives you a lot of disscount on numerous activities.

Not really! Everything was well arranged by the host institution. Non EU students still need to pass through some time consumming administrative activities like applying for a residence permit etc.

I would recommend you to apply for the student residence offered by the University- it is very valuable for making contacts with the other international students and it's really close to the school. The metro and the RER are very fast and effective way to travel in Paris. If you like to travel a lot, apply for a carte jaune.

It was very professional, they hired very professional people as teachers. People who had most of the time much working experience in the fields they were teaching. So that was quit interesting. Furthermore, anyone can go there. You can make it yourself as hard or easy as possible. Erasmusstudents can chose the course them selves. There are also a lot of course offerd in english. Personally, I feel like I learned a lot, so my recommendation would be to continue as they did before.

Studying in Paris was for me a great experience. I learned a lot, not only at school, also outside. At such an exchange program you will meet a lot of international students from all over the world. If you want to learn the language don't hesitate to get in contact with the french students. They might seem closed at the beginning. But in fact, many of them have been abroad them selves, at least that was the case in my group. They were very open minded. So I only recommend to be open minded as well. Furthermore, Paris is a great city to live in. It has a lot of culture and the night life is also very nice.

Give the foreign students as much information on everyday things and customs and habits as much as possible. inform them about the school policies such as internships. Do Not forget that they are non french students and inform the lecturers about it, so that they can pay attention to them and ask them for feedback during classes.

Do not fight or compare french culture with your own, eventhough certain things are handled differently then at home. You are in France, go with the flow of everyday life, embrace it so it can embrace you. You will have a great time!

Overall
