Type of housing: student accomodation out of the town centre
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The student accomodation where i stayed was fantastic although i felt it would have been more practical to live in the town centre (Altstadt)

I met a group of people here and i was paying the most rent out of all of them, but i have absoltuelty no complaints with my accomodation. It was so clean and there was enough room, not huge but enough, there were 16 people on my floor and four people to each bathroom, which were kept immaculate. I also had internet connection in my room which was included in my rent.

Tufts reserves dorm rooms as well as rooms in some suites. I had my own room in a suite built for four (4) people. Also included were two showers, a kitchen with many modern ammenities, extra storage space, as well as washing machines (for general dorm use). Living with German students proved to be a valuable experience, especially for improving language/comprehension skills.

Type of housing: WHO Student Village
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
WHO is great but sometimes getting a bus up there after a night of partying (Especially on weekdays) is a pain. Also, the Altstadt has amazing old apartments

The key here is getting lucky with good roomates. I was blessed with 4 out of 5 roomates being awesome. Some arent so lucky. Tuebingen is a very diverse place, so expect some culture clashing

As a student I would recommend to live in a dormitory with other students. You get a interesting social life and to a low cost.

The university makes a good job in finding rooms for exchange students, as long as you apply for one in good time. Standards vary among the rooms, but all are in good shape.

Because living in a campus is a bit stressing if you're trying to work, with all the partying going on!

Housing is very good organized, and you can change your room in the campus very easily. Also, it is a great advantage for someone who doesn't know the place and the language, because you can meet lots of people from germany and abroad.

I got a room at a newly renovated dorm. I was pleased to find a well equipped kitchen and a cozy room for a fair price. One thing I would recommend internationals is to arrange for an internet connection for the time after the arrive and before they get their login credentials from the university.
