don't take it too serious. they are private and proud about that, but neither the quality of classes nor things they are offering are better in anyway to other universities. And try to contact with people from other unis in tallinn quickly because there are much more and their esn offers much better activities and moreover a wider choice of those!

Tallinn is a great starting point for traveling so if you're planning to visit Riga, Vilnius, Petersburg, Stockholm, Helsinki and so on, it's the perfect place! If you wish to stay in your host city most of the time you might get bored after some time! Consider this when deciding for/against studying in Tallinn!

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Dorm of uni Talllinn
Why?
Much cheaper than any apartment - prices in tallinn are crazy and international students are regularly ripped off! But getting a dorm-place might be hard if you are not at tallinn university... but give it a try!

EBS doesn't provide any dorm or similarities... they arrange apartments, but even so they are quite well located and big they seemed overpriced to me. Organizing housing on my self was a good joice for me and i would also recommend it to others!

in general the life in Estonia is still a bit cheaper than in Austria. The reason why I am spending more money for housing here than at home is that I am living in a student residence at home and here I have my own flat near Old Town and the university.

do not think that shopping is so cheap hear, that's not true! The well known brands sell their clothes for the same price as in other countries and there are no low budget fashion shops (like H&M)

Courses for international Students are being held in English, as most teachers mother tongue isn't English the language used wasn't difficult at all, but always seemed to be a little limited in expressions... but it was okay. I took some classes in estonian, but as it is really hard to learn and hardly anyone is speaking it (about 1 mio. people ;-) i put more effort in learning some russian (which is also offered by ebs) than estonian language!

Personal spending habits
Food, telephone (mobile) and housing were much cheaper. I spent more on nightlife because I went out 4 or 5 times a week, and generally drank more beer (albeit at a cheaper price). I did much more domestic and international travel (a short bus ride as opposed to a long plane ride from Australia).

Eating out is sometimes cheaper than cooking. Also, as beer is significantly cheaper, you may be tempted to drink more!
