You have to be very good in German to succeed there. Some lecturers talk with the accent of the region.

Tough courses. Had wished lecturers were better and maybe a bit more creative in their approach. Rather conservative university.

the language level required is high to really understand some specific lectures (Finance, Accounting...) but the profs are really willing to help you.

Bavaria is quite a nice region to see, lots of historical sites... furthermore you´re only one hour per train from Munich Advantage: Bavaria has quite a central position: 3 hours from Salzburg, 4-5 hours from Vienna, also not too far from the mountains. u can easily spent great week-ends!

If I selected "I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would", it's just because one simple thing : you'll enjoy your year abroad only if you're able to be open-minded enough to get used to other cultures and way-of-life, and then take the best of it to improve yourself. Try not to stay only with students coming from the same country than you (even if you're studying only with them), but try to go to the others. May the cultural melting-pot be an aim of your year abroad.

That i would have to fill in mountains of paper work and attach passport photos for all the "behoerde". I was also not that prepared for the weather, very cold in winter and very hot in summer!

I really had a great experience in LA, i gelled well with my tutors and made a lot of very close friends from all over the world. The courses challenged me but not to the extent where i was having a breakdown. My social life was great, not due to the town itself (there is 1 niteclub) but as all the students pull together and improvise, making their own fun :-)) I would definately recommend a semester at FH Landshut for anyone interested in the german language and who likes a challenge. Its hard work but especially for foreigners there is a brilliant support system at hand to guide you through. Good german skills are advised as a lot of my friends felt overwhelmed by it all in the first semester and it is simply more enjoyable for you if you come prepared!

there is a foreign office in the univeristy where you are the welcome. Mrs Maier worries about the foreign students. the library and the pedagogic material in the disposition for the students are very complete.
