Housing
Type of housing: Homestay
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Boarding House
Why?
The Pondok Bugenvil is very comfortable, clean and nice. The price is also still acceptable, though very expensive for Indonesia (~100 Euro/month)

At MM-UGM (Master of Management) you have to arrange the accomodation on your own. It's best to do it there with the help of an existing exchange student or Indonesians.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I rented a house with three other students. There was a private swimmingpool and a housekeeper. The price of 250€ a person a month is high for Indonesia, but it was definitely worth it! Similar houses are easy to find, but it is also possible to have a nice house without swimmingpool.

The university has its own hotel where you can stay for a long period. This is however not a really pleasant place to stay, and for the same price you can find a nice house. It is an option to stay here the first month, but whereas you can easily find a house in 1-2 weeks you can stay in a hotel as well.

Housing
Type of housing: boarding house
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Because the boarding house was expensive and there was not a lot of space, no possibility to cook and I couldn't invite my friends. An own house costs a lot less and you have much more freedom.

There are plenty of options to find a cheap house for rent if you stay for several month. Cost and student houses can be annoying because of strict rules.
