Personal social experience
Personal comments
University has a gym (for free). Being active and doing sports seemed to be a big part of Norwegian life. As an Olympic town Lillehammer has also other sport facilities. Town is not too big but has many good places to visit at night. Mostly filled with students.
Actually - anything you want to do - u can do it there.

If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Living on a campus is a part of a student life :) That's a good place to meet people and stay closer to friends.

Personal comments
Norway is quite expensive so costs are high. But the housing was really good. Not too far from university. I had my own room and bathroom; shared kitchen (it was clean but all depends on people you live with on one floor)

University arranges trips for international students but I travel also with friends. It's amazingly beautiful country. And planning trips in advance (booking train tickets etc.) can save you a lot of money.

Academic
Course recommendations
Really not a big choice in courses for international students (in English). I took what they had. People speaking Norwegian will have much bigger choice.

Personal comments
Norwegians speak English very well. Had no problems either in university nor anyplace else. But this fact sure did not help learning Norwegian since I always knew they would understand my English better. Became too lazy to try..... :D
