communication study at HU
Anna E
Netherlands, Undergraduate
Communication and Information Sciences, 2022
Overall
The study communication at the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht is a decent study, the atmosphere is really informal which gives students all the space to ask questions or develop new skills. The teachers of this department are all extremely helpful and nice, most of them come from the working field and therefore know a lot about the field. There is a new building with a lot of studyspace and delicious food counters. After all I would highly recommend this study at the HU!

I don't feel I'm in a top of the world University. However, its good quality education. The teachers are amazing, with experience working at top companies and diverse nationalities. Infrastructure is modern and does the job and if you are European its a great deal financially.

Great school

The teachers at IB study are okay. Some teachers really care about you and try their best, but there are a lot of bad teachers who do not have any passion in their job and is clear to see that they do not have the best interest with their students and just wanting to get paid.

That this school advertises itself as a Logistics school, when in reality there is not many logistics related courses.

Become more in-touch with the students. The teachers and academia give off an aura that they don't really care about the students, that they are there more for themselves then for the students.

Upon arriving, if you plan to travel throughout Holland make sure you get yourself a discount card for the train, it costs 49 euros, but it pays for itself after only a few trips to Amsterdam, etc. you save 40% on all your rail travel. Also, see about getting yourself a bike as soon as possible, since the majority of people ride bikes. But if you don't live that close to the school, or you don't want to get wet when it rains, get yourself a bus pass. This allows you to take any bus a certain amount of "zones" any day of the week.
