As a full-course student at Sciences Po Lyon
Loic L
France, Graduate
International Relations, 2018
Overall
The Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Lyon, or Sciences Po Lyon, is a state-sponsored high education institution part of a national nexus of smiliar schools around France which may be entered after passing a considerably selective examination that takes place nation-wide. It specialises in political sciences but also encompasses subjects such as law, history, international relations, economics and business studies, geopolitics or administrative studies, with a heavy emphasis on languages and international experience. As such, an entire course at Sciences Po Lyon includes a compulsory school year spent in a foreign university.
Sciences Po Lyon provides its students with solid academic skills and professional opportunities which are both valued in France and internationally, and that translate well in the public and private sectors.

Pros
Initial selection, well-funded public high education institution, compulsory international experience, diversity of subject and versatility of the course, high level of teaching, network in the public and private sectors
Cons
Somewhat dwarfed by its Parisian counterpart and predecessor, does not have a campus as such but located in a lively student city

Studying abroad was the best thing I've done during my college career-- all I want to do since I've been back is go back! I love my home university and the US, but my six months in France were definitely the best of my life. Advice: GO ABROAD! And while you're there, travel, immerse yourself in the culture, and have a blast,

Institut d'études politiques de province
Héloïse J
France, Graduate
Political Science, 2021
Overall
