At home I don't have to pay anything regarding housing, because I live at my parents house. I travelled more in Germany than at home, so that meant more money too.

I wish I had known...
In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
This is a small university, but it's filled with lots of kind and fun people. You can have your fun and party time there but sometimes you also have to study.

Final comments
Bruchsal is a small town but you can travel to a lots of places in Germany and outside too.
In the neighbouring area you can find Heidelberg and Karlsruhe both beautiful cities. Use "die deutsche bahn" because although it's expensive it brings you whereever you want and there are always some kind of special offers.

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
Before the exchange program I was ok with both languages - English and German. But afterwards my Enlgish improved very much, and also my German improved. It was a little bit funny, that although I was living for 4 months in Germany, I spoke a great deal more English than German. The reason for this was, that at the university most students were international students, so they spoke hardly any German - so the common language was after all English.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
It's the center of life in Bruchsal, if a student has to live out of campus, then he/she has not so many contact with the other students, or basically he/she stays at campus for the whole day and only goes home if he/she really has to.

Personal comments
The campus at IU was very good, my only problem was my roommates, who weren't students anymore at IU but they still lived there with a totally other lifestyle than students, so it was a bit strange to live with them. But this was the only thing which wasn't so good about IU campus, otherwise I loved campud life.

Student life
Describe host city:
Student life dominates the city

Personal comments
At Bruchsal out of the campus hardly happens anything (except of Nachtskultur), so campus parties are the bests. With the train you can get to bigger cities like Karlsruhe or Heidelberg, where nightlife is better.
