Telephone because I was making long distance calls of sorts.
Accomodation because I was living in a house and not on campus.
Nightlife because I was going out a lot to see what Marseille had to offer.
Travel because the bus was my main mode of transport to and from university and into the city centre itself.

Because it was very important to integrate with other exchange students and local students and the best way to do it is living on a campus.

The room was OK as for one person, cost 300 eur with governement support it was around 200, bathroom should have been clean more often because sometimes it was very dirty and there was no internet connection at that time. I was happy with quality of my room but I know quality was variable, depends of the room.

Always have a copy of your passport in case of theft or loss. Don't tie yourself to international students, try as much as possible to hang around with the local students. You will learn a great deal from them.
