In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Very good university, good level of the course. Please pay attention, there's a housing crisis in Nijmegen: If you expect the International relations department of the KUN to provide you with housing, be among the first ones to send your application file (June /july)!!!

Final comments
It's rare to manage to make Dutch friends, you usually spend most of your time with other Erasmus students... But the international student association (led by Dutch students) is very well organized and organizes events and trips throughout the Netherlands every month: it's impossible to escape social life;-) To conclude, the experience abroad will bring you at least as much as the course themselves.

Academic
Course recommendations
Don't hesitate to follow courses in different faculties! Pay attention to the level and the resources (come courses taught in English require to read Dutch reading materials!)

Languages
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
Courses of law and political sciences in English: quite difficult but very interesting and worth taking these courses. The courses of German are very difficult to follow for French people, because the level of German in the Netherlands is very very high.

Personal spending habits
Housing: I used to live at my parent's!
Telephone: we all lived in the same area and rather had a bike ride than a phone call!Nightlife: more nightlife when not at parent's house! Food: used to be more expensive than in France (not true anymore because of price war in Dutch supermarkets)

Accessibility of student needs
Second-hand household items
Personal comments
Books are far more expensive than in France (cf. French law on book prices) and not always available in the university libraries! Many computers available at university. Pay attention: in some banks, you need to pay to close your account before the end of the first year after its opening!
