Very good university, good level of the course. Please pay attention, there's a housing crisis in Nijmegen: If you expect the International relations department of the KUN to provide you with housing, be among the first ones to send your application file (June /july)!!!

It's rare to manage to make Dutch friends, you usually spend most of your time with other Erasmus students... But the international student association (led by Dutch students) is very well organized and organizes events and trips throughout the Netherlands every month: it's impossible to escape social life;-) To conclude, the experience abroad will bring you at least as much as the course themselves.

KUN has a very international outlook and the Erasmus programme is very well organised, from the introduction programme when you first arrive to the arrangements to have results sent back to your home university. Everyone goes out of their way to help you and the student bodies such as Elsa and the SZG are very helpful and fun.

I would definately recommend the Erasmus programme to all students and if you are looking to go to a country where you can learn in English the Netherlands and specifically Nijmegen would be an excellent choice.

Housing
Type of housing: A room exchange
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
I am not so exacting on a place, but there must be a washbasin in a bedroom, energy-like heating, electricity and in the kitchen, which can be shared must be a gas and it should be fully equipd.Shower and toillet should be available.
But this is for short stay, for longer stay I would like to live in a fully equiped flat.

This room, where I lived was really good from strategic view, it lies close to the city center and buss/train station. Disadvantage was,I had to bring my kitchen staff.

Overall
The life in Netherlands is based on extended freedom. The country offers you many opportunities on whatever you seek. Nijmegen is a small-city, among those you can experience a real dutch life if you think Amsterdam is the Netherlands.
The university welcomes you with warm-hearted staff, helping you out in anything you need assistance for. The educational team is also worth taught-by, as the university is among the top when it comes to legal studies.
Transport to university could not be easier, you can reach it from wherever you live. Prices are somewhat affordable in average for all kind of things, rent, bills, eat-outs, fun etc.
One thing I can say about studying in the Netherlands is, you will never regret that!

Language of instruction: English

My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
Before my study stay I didn`t know anything about Dutch language. I had opportunity to learn this language, but I didn`t take a chance, because firstly I had a bit problem with communication in English. But at the end of my stay I learned some basic words from Dutch and of course I did great improving in English.
Recently I am going to study to Belgium(Flemish part), so if I will have a chance to attend Dutch course, I want to take this.
