In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Don't think a little town could be boring because in Eichstaett you will find everything that you need and people who can help you everywhere if you try to be kind and polite like german people! Don't break rules, because the Germans could be very strict with people that don't respect contracts or accomodation rules.

Really positive experience, if you are a creative person Eichstaett is the place for you! University doesn't have anything to do with religion over there.

Academic
Course recommendations
Attending all courses for all their duration is fundamental. Foreign students are followed and helped from professors. Little classrooms with a few students permits you more to interact during the classes.

Nothing more. Maybe to improve learning style of german professors. Less PP presentation and more study on academic books.

Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German
How much did you improve your German?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Language difficulties
Administrative / Institutional
Personal comments
Improved a lot my German knowledges. Together even with foreign students I used to speak German. I forgot a bit English! It was almost impossible sometimes what local old people were telling to you because of their Bayerisch strong dialect performances!

Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant

Personal spending habits
Life costs in this little town were lower than in my city in Italy. Rents are lower in Germany than in Italy. Disco's entrances costed 2,50-5,00 euros compared to the expensive costs of 12-16 euros in Italy. Beer costed the same as water with discounts for students, but people prefered drinking tap water.

Accessibility of student needs

Personal comments
Copies for academic books were expensive, you couldn't copy an entire edition because of author's rights. Academic books were also very expensive but not always demanded from professors who gave students lots of slides and copies to study.
