As my first degree in University of Istanbul was conducted in English language I was already very familiar with using the language in academical way. I, however, improved my ability of speaking fluently in everyday life.

Please do make sure to eat. Some students are such sticks when the return back home to their home country!
Tip: DONT overspend. the banks seem to attract you with their overdraft facilities, but dont fall into the trap. Dont use up the overdraft to the bitter end...I had to pay back my overdraft and it was painful! So pls..dont overspend..dont go out to much! (ok kinda hard...but at least try not to spend too much!)

There was no one who spoke my language in the place where I was living, and that helped a lot to improve my English. I also took a course on English at the university, which helped to correct mistakes.
