Personal comments
At LSE, it is a very complicated topic, because there is not enough place for all the students to live in school's residences. So the priority is definitely not for exchange students who only come for 3 months.
But I since I had the chance to find a place with good friends of my home university, I was an overall good experience.

A very interesting experience. You meet people from all over Europe (and even more), but very few british people.
LSE is also a major reference in Economics, and it's and great name on your CV !!

Take care of housing as soon as you kno you're going to LSE.
In a general way, you won't have a lot of courses. So try to have them on 2 or 3 days, to be able to visit London, and travel a bit.
London ih THE hub. So, do use low cost airlines !! Clear ?

Personal spending habits
Accomodation is very very very much expensive in London.
But the good thing is that there's a lot of low cost airlines (Easyjet, Ryanair, etc...) that offer trips at almost no cost - it was cheaper to go and spend a week-end in Stockholm (with no hotel expenses) than staying in London !!
