Swedish people can speak very very good English. From the beginning on I didn't have any problems with the communication. Most of the time the people recognized that I am a foreigner with only basic knowlegde of swedish and they immediately spoke English with me.

Because Linköping is so well located that you cannot resist to travel through all scandinavia! Even if student fares make it cheap, I have never so much travel, that is why travelling evry week-ends will increase your expenses.
Nightlife is really expensive, but as you never avoid going to parties, as a matter of fact it won't be good time for your wallet, but you will enjoy it!
