Clubs: a great deal of clubs are gathered in Kunstparkost near the Ostbahnhof in a old huge slaughterhouse and factory area. This gives a weird feeling for the place at first glance, sort of a chaotic urban vision in science-fiction movies. But rather safe and not so wild after all. Most clubers there are teenagers thus making prices affordable. Can be very packed on week-ends. More stylish and 'studentish' clubs can be found scattered around in the city. Gosh I hate this German Drum&bass they can feed you with all night long. Pubs & Kneipen: nightlife is located mainly in the Schwabing and Münchner Freiheit districts north of the university but beware 'cause most bars close at 1 a.m during week-days and not later than 3 a.m on week-ends. The typical atmosphere in a german kneipe is 'ruhig und gemütlich' with candles on tables. It Turns out to be dullish for me so I'd rather head to an Irish pub with good music such as the Günther or Shamrock. Keller & Biergarten: Ah, now we're talking about the REAL Munich. Great beers, Oohm-pla-pla bands (check out Höfbräuhaus) and the Lederhosen guy serving you 12 Masses+ 9 Bretzels: a must of Munich! Overall, Munich is a great place to enjoy at night although it's hard to find crazy places with crazy people like in Nice.

* Kunstpark Ost - about 20 nightclubs at the same place. A must to see, but it's really not soo good. * Atomic Cafe - good nightclub in the city centre. Tip: You have to look "cool" (not necessarily "rich") and bring some girls with to get in! * Alabama park - pay 30 DM, then all drinks are free. Music quite OK - a bit mainstream, but if youre in the right mood... * Beergardens - there are *a lot* of them, and the beer is *really* good. Just stay away from Löwenbrau, it's as bad as any non-München beer. * Oktoberfest - in the end of September. Beer, beer, beer and a fantastic ambience. You can even without problem go there alone, you'll always find someone to drink with. * Englisher Garten - the worlds larges urban garden. Great, just a few hundred meters from the University. * Westpark - more beatiful than Englisher Garten, just not right next the uni.

If you are looking for a place to chil out don't forget to visit 'Kultfabrik' where you can choose many kinds of clubs and bars with various musics and themes. Also, near Olympia Park there is ZHS (Zentrale Hochschul Sport) where as students register many sport programs of a reasonble fee. If you are looking for cafes, there are lots of cafes along the leopoldstrasse until Muenchner Freiheit. Also, near Odeonsplatz there are also many kinds of clubs. For the events, definitely you should go look Octoberfest which lasts for 2 weeks staring on the last week of September! KPO - huge club complex at the Ostbahnhof station. Anywhere on Münchener Freiheit (a main road with loads of pubs). English/Irish pubs:- Günter Murphy's (inbetween Münchener Freiheit and Gisellastraße), A Hard Days Night (near McDonalds at Münchenerfreiheit - brand new this year), Ned Kelly's (Irish/Australian Bar near the Frauenkirche at Marienplatz). Also Hofbraühaus - about 5 mins walk away from Marienplatz.

gym, swimming. best cafe,ehhhh...anast house, very historical and classic. that is the cafe you want to see in Europe. marienplatz for in-shoppers and maximiliansstr for shoppers with fat wallet. olympiazentrum for football events and live concerts!! of kilians irish pub, the best one in town!

Best cafe and restaurant near the LMU is CafeAnDerUni (CADU). Reasonable prises and good food. If you come to Munich, don't miss Oktoberfest, the craziest festival in the world. If you really like to dance, go to KunstparkOst, but the funniest disco in the city must be SoulCity...
