nightlife was more expensive, we have studentprices at bars and nightclubs at home, there weren't always studentprices at the bars in france so I spent more there. Concerning housing, I have an expensive flat in sweden and managed to find a roommate to share my rent in france so it ended up lower then at home. I spent more on travel in france as well because I hade friends doing their erasmus at other french cities so I went to visit them, in sweden I have my friends at my university so I hardly ever travel.

Food is more expensive overall. dont have to pay an appartment at home. Nightlife is cheap if there are special student events. On the week-ends prices double at least. I spent more on travel because I just travel more than at home but prices are almost the same (except fuel is +20% compared to Austria). Phone was cheaper because you know less people to call in the beginning.

banks charge you for every service and most of the time the people working there have no clue about EU/International matters.

Housing is generally more expensive in France than it is in Austria. Nightlife for the same reasons - a drink just costs more in France. Concerning travelling; I travelled a lot there (Barcelona, Madrid, a lot of french cities ...) to profit from my stay in the south.

I spent more in rent because in Italy I don't have to face this expence. I spent more in nightlife because there were more parties organised. I spent more in travelling because, as I was living in France, I toke the opportunity to know better the country.
