NWSA bridges the gap between the classroom and the performance world by affording each student opportunities to develop through immediate interaction with an accessible artistic community. Artists--aspiring and professional-form the creative environment of New World School of the Arts, a unique community celebrating individuality. The programs nurture the perspective of a new world, developing artists who express a multiplicity of ideas.
As part of the Miami-Dade Community College, the NWSA was created as a Center of Excellence in the performing and visual arts by the Florida Legislature in 1984, NWSA prepares students for professional careers in dance, music, theater and visual arts.
