Studentersamfundet. It´s a whole building managed by students with a bar, pub, disco where almost every weekend there is a concert. Downtown and Harveys are two nice pubs with free entrace. TigerTiger is a very funny disco-pub to go, but you have to pay to get inside. Chokoboko is a lovely cafe to go close to the old bridge. And Mormors it´s the cheapest place to have a beer in the evenings, they have also coffes and it´s a very nice place to go.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
It was very nice living there with all my fellows. The neighbourhood was very nice. And it was the cheapest way of living there although my schoolaship wasn´t enough to pay it.

When I arrived I already had a house because the university found one for me, and this was pretty nice. It was very nice to live with all my fellows arround like a big family. There were some students organizations close to us willing to entertain us. The only bad thing were my flat mates, realy weir people, but I managed and I could have changed if I wanted.

It´s amazing how all the people there speaks english, even old people speaks english. Nothing compared with Spain. And they don´t have any problem in speaking english to you, and also they don´t demand you to learn norwegian although I think is a nice thing to do and also is kind with them and respectfull with your host country and population.

Academic
Course recommendations
Take care, because all the courses are not in english. Some of them are in norwegian. Normally if you ask the teacher to speak in english they don´t have any problem, but is better to make sure before registering in the courses.

Personal spending habits
Food and nightlife and traveling where extreamly expensive in Norway because they taxation policy. The housing was ok because it was subsidized by the university. Also it was free to call from a student house to another and I was carefull with international calls

I wish I had known...
Well, I was really stressed before going to Norway. And now I know it wasn´t really a reason to be worried about. At the end everything works.

Final comments
For me Norway was the discovery of a different and lovely way of life in constant contact with nature and peace. Nature there is so amazing. I´ll recommend everybody to do many cabin trips there. And also to visit the studenterhytta.
