Housing
Type of housing: International Student House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: International Student House
Why?
The international student houses are definately the best way to meet people, and of course to have a lot of fun. If you have the choice, I would recommend staying in Albertine Agnesplein (where I stayed), Melkweg/Kraneweg or Mooestraat. Whichever one you're in, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Personal comments
There's a real accommodation shortage in this city, so apply as soon as you can. The accommodation is pretty basic, but the atmosphere in the houses are really friendly. Definately recommend to anyone.

Course recommendations
In the Netherlands it's crucial to attend the first class of the course. In that moment groups of students (that will work together for the whole course) are made and if you are missing, you'll not have a group and you cannot make your exam

Certain things in Holland such as rent and some foods are cheaper than in the UK. Also, bills were included in the rent which made a big difference.

Groningen night is amazing, there is plenty to do and places to go at night. You can stay until 6 in the morning in Shadrack or in the Car. There are Jazz concerts in the Spieghel, in the Sol in Cantine.... Happy hour on Monday in Sally's, on Wednesday in the Storm and every night in the Blaw Angel. The Soldier to have a beer; Enzo to dance; gay pubs with house music; Molly Malone's on Thursday (happy hour), the Three sisters in Grote Mark (Dutch people; Samba....Lots of pubs...
