Probably more frequent tutorials would be helpful. The university has very high-level academic approach which is based on individual work. However, more discussions and team work during classes would be interesting and helpful for students.

I wish I had known...
I got a comprehensive information package from the host university well in time, so I think I had all the necessary information beforehand.

I was studying in the faculty of economics and all things went well. Although it seems that there are significant differences between faculties and if you are Erasmus-student etc. Some students from different faculties didn't receive any information beforehand...

The Netherlands is an optimal place to travel anywhere, so remember to travel! My personal experience from local people wasn't so nice. Sometimes they can be quite rude and arrogant. Urban legend tells that Groningers are different from rest of the country. But of course you'll find nice people too. Don't take stress and enjoy your time!

This University should inform more international students about the way they work with the e-learning, because most of them are not used to it at all.

I recommend to live in an international house, not too far from the city center. It is also very important to buy a bikre if you study in Groningen because it is very convenient.

If you want to live in a student house, apply for Moesstraat, Blekerslaan or Winschoterdiep through the Housing Office. You will love them. Get a bike as soon as you can but most important, purchase a VERY good lock as it's very easy to be stolen a bike... Then, enjoy Groningen a lot!

Research university with a high educational level of the courses
Claudia N
Germany, Graduate
Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology, 2021
Overall
Within the Master's programme of Neuropsychology, I have received a wide range of courses, that prepare me for a career in research as well as the practice as a (clinical) Psychologist. The courses were a mix of research-relevant topics, topics in Neuropsychology, such as Neuropsychological assessment, and general Psychological topics such as Therapy in global mental health. The probably most useful skill acquired during my studies was probably the training in critical thinking, the evaluation of different data and Psychological literature.

During my Bachelor's degree at the same university, I participated in research practice, and practical courses such as Diagnostic skills and assessment, and Dialogue and group skills.

In total my degree qualified me with theoretical and practical skills to work independently as a Psychologist in various fields.
