It's difficult to get the courses that you want in the English seminar, because there's always too many people.

It'd have been great to have the possibility of more interaction with native students.

International Students: don't take too many courses in places like the IDF (Institut fuer Deutsch als Fremdsprache) - you won't get to meet any German students there!

The German university system is very different from the US system, especially in the professor-student relationship, and the work load (it was much lighter during my year in Germany). Within the German as a Foreign Language Department there were few classes that were more appropriate for short-term students, whose German was not at the fluency level. Also there was only a small number of computers with internet access available to students who did not have internet in their apartments.

Perhaps more intergration or at least interaction between foreign students and German students and a more focused program for short-time students (those students only there for a semester or a year).

In some cases teachers simple decided to give an speach instead of lecturing to the students. To read instead of speaking to the students, is not necessarily the best teaching method.

Well, some seminars were really there to fill up the gaps, and to me seemed as of the responsibles of this semminar were unprepared.
