la Sapienza, grande università
Marco C
Italy, Graduate
, 2011
Overall

Overall
Sapienza has one of the most beautiful campuses. Especially the main campus is a sight for sore eyes. The canteen has a good quality of foods and there are many international students from all over the world. The Erasmus offices is very helpful with international students. The only downside to this university, in my opinion, is old fashioned professors coming to class and teaching according to textbooks.

Challenging lessons, good teachers but not very organized university
Marta E
Italy, Undergraduate
Philosophy, 2018
Overall
This University is the biggest and most known in Rome and surely has a lot of very good professors. The place where my faculty was, was a really nice and peaceful villa surrounded by a garden, near Bologna square. Anyway since the university has a lot of alumni, the students are left by them selves and don't have a lot of help. The websites are not very new and well used too.

The campus is great with its structure and you can feel the classic smell. Most of the faculty are very kind and they'll try there best to make you understand with the topic. It's very liberal so you can take your time to finish the exams. I got friends with different continents and our syllabus touch different aspects of the main stream

Personal recommendation
Visit the Secretariat as many times as it takes to get ALL the needed information. Ask specific questions. They tend to answer only in them! Also, some professors are not very friendly to Erasmus students.

Final comments
If you want to get a job or appartment the most useful tool is the "porta portese" newspaper. While in Rome take some 2 or 3 day trips. Many lovely cities are within a 3-hour distance (Florence, Sienna, Pisa, Napoli) Train is the most comfortable way to travel, but the express trains cost much more.
